Evra, Henry Feel For Irish

Manchester United full-back Patrice Evra recently came out and defended Thierry Henry and his infamous handball.  Evra said that injustices happen all the time in the game and, essentially, everyone has to move on and get over it.  Evra apparently has a sense of humor if you are French or a fan of the team.  Not so much if you feel for Ireland the way the rest of the world does.  He has offered to replay Ireland but only on his playstation!  I doubt Manchester United teammate John O’shea will take him up on his offer anytime soon.

Thierry Henry has come out and said that he thought about quitting international football altogether after the backlash he received over his infamous handball.  Last week he even said the Irish should be awarded a replay although FIFA had already nixed that idea.  While I don’t particularly believe he ever contemplated quitting, this is someone who has experienced a less degree for some of his antics to win penalties during his time in the premier league, he does seem to realize that his actions were regrettable.  Most of all, was the fact that he ran around to Gallas as if he had just won the World Cup.  Had he produced an Antonio Valencia, no display of glee at any cost type of celebration, he may not have been criticized as much.
