Ivory Coast find themselves in what many would consider the 'Group of Death'. Grouped alongside world powers like Brazil and Portugal this group promises to deliver some great action. The Ivory Coast will undoubtedly be led by English double winner Didier Drogba. The Ivorian has had an exceptional year in which he was listed as one of Time Magazine's 100 most influential people. They will need him to be at his best as they take on Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal in their first game on June 15.
Sven Goran Eriksson had a relatively easy job of picking his side. Eboue and Kolo Toure will both be starting in the back. In midfield, Yaya Toure is sure to see some playing time. Of course the front line will be spearheaded by Drogba. Really that is all you need, but just for safe measure Drogba's Chelsea teammate Kalou will be there as well.
Goalkeepers: Boubacar Barry (Lokeren), Vincent Angban, Daniel Yeboah (both Asec Mimosas), Aristide Zogbo (Maccabi Netanya); Souleymane Bamba (Hibernian) Defenders: Arthur Boka (Stuttgart), Emmanuel Eboue (Arsenal), Abdoulaye Meite (West Brom), Siaka Tiene, Benjamin Angoua (both Valenciennes), Kolo Toure (Manchester City), Steve Gohouri (Wigan) Midfielders: Emerse Fae (Nice), Guy Demel (Hamburg), Romaric N'Dri Koffi, Didier Zokora (both Sevilla), Cheick Tiote (FC Twente), Yaya Toure (Barcelona), Gilles Yapi Yapo (Young Boys), Kanga Akale (Lens), Jean-Jacques Gosso (Monaco), Emmanuel Kone (International Curtea Arges) Forwards: Aruna Dindane (Lens), Seydou Doumbia (Young Boys), Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou (both Chelsea), Kader Keita (Galatasaray), Bakari Kone (Marseille), Gervinho (Lille), Lacina Traore (CFR Cluj).
